I'm having too much fun right now. Seriously, this is badass.
Top Half
8:04 - Tex reaches into the stands and makes a "fingertip" snag with the webbing, if there is such a thing. Another marvelous, yet often overlooked play by the one they don't but should call the Second Coming of Marky Mark. Great facial reaction by the first-row fan who thought he had a souvenir.
8:06 - Vazquez continues to get ripped, as Drew takes a 3-2 slider and ropes it into the right field corner for a one-out double. He doesn't seem to have a clue out there tonight. No feel for any of his pitches. I'm calling a fifth inning hook.
8:10 - HMMMM...looks like Javy might just be starting to get his command. He fans Kalish it what was probably his best sequence of the young evening. Still say he doesn't make it through five, though.
Bottom Half
8:15 - Again, Rodriguez is on the ball but can't catch a break. Ellsbury runs down a liner headed for the gap in right-center for the final out. Buccholz looks to be settling in now. Doesn't bode well for the sleepy bats of the Yankee order.
Between Innings
The Yankee trivia question segment was read off by A-Rod and went as follows:
Q: Who is the only switch-hitter in major league baseball to win the triple crown. Was it...A) Ruben Sierra [I scoffed here]...B) Bernie Williams...C) Mark Teixeira...or D) Mickey Mantle.
C'mon Yankee Stadium, that's the best you could do? Really? You couldn't even throw Eddie Murray in there or Chipper Jones or even Lance Berkman? It had to be all former or current Yanks in order to validate the quiz? BS. I would have said Ruben just to be 'that guy.'
