INNING #7!!!

Beats so fresh, Mentos tried to sue me!

9:14 - Ortiz laces a p-rod to the opposite field, but Gardener is there for the first out.  Careful there, Kerry.
9:16 - Martinez lifts a fairly deep fly to right that Swish should have had for the out.  39 out of 40 times he makes that play no problem.  Not sure if he took his eye off it or what but that should have been a catch.  The scorer called it an error, but Mr. Edes and I believe he wasn't really watching the play.  Too busy reading the line on Javier Vazquez to the media and forgot to look up at the replay.  Shame, shame, Mr. Shannon.
9:18 - Another line drive to left and another running catch by Gardener.  Two outs, the hard way.  Wood continues to flirt with danger.
9:21 - Two line drive outs deserve a third I always say.  Granderson retreats and tracks down the Scutaro smack for the final out.  Kerry exits stage right.  Yankee Universe breathes a collective sigh of relief.

Between Halves

9:24 - I gotta say, the one thing that the Red Sox media experience has over the Yanks are the bathrooms.  Honestly, I expected something a little nicer than what the Stadium had to offer.   Not that it was a dirty or inconvenient restroom, it just felt more exposed and less efficiently spaced than the Boston bathrooms.  Weird sidenote but I felt it had to be said.  Red Sox Media Area 1, Yankees Media Area...more than one.

Bottom Half

9:31 - Buccholz barely skips out of the way of a hot Swisher worm up the middle.  A solid two-out hit that makes Nick 2-4.  Sox trainer out to check on him but it didn't looked like the ball clipped him from the replay.  A second two-run homer would be quite useful here.
9:34 - Wishful thinking.  Tex frozen on a perfect 1-2 two-seamer from Buccholz.  He's a tough cookie, that one.

Between Halves

9:35 - And of course, Kerry Wood is coming back out to pitch.  Man Girardi, you really have a funny way off using that bullpen sometimes.
